Verses for Wedding Invitations | Back to Top

This day I will marry my friend, the one who shares my dreams

A new day A new life Together

One love that is shared by two

As our marriage brings new meaning to love, so our love brings new meaning to life

With an endless love we'll share our thoughts, our dreams, ourselves

This day I will marry my friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with, love

On our wedding day a new life has its start We'll share with each other one love, one dream, one heart

The miracle of love is that love is given to us to give to one another

Love fills the moment, and the moment begins eternity Love fills a lifetime, and a lifetime begins this hour

Two hearts that beat as one

And the two shall become one

How beautiful is the day that is touched by love

To have and to hold from this day forward

This day our hearts are joined as one

Our life together begins this day

Love lights the hearts of those who share it

The path that leads to happiness is so narrow that two cannot walk on it, unless they become one

Take my hand and say you will follow me

Two lives Two hearts joined together in friendship United forever in Love

Delight yourself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4

And the Two shall become One

Top Ideas for Wedding Programs | Back to Top

Wedding programs are an integral part of your wedding ceremony. Through wedding programs, your guests are able to feel more involved with your wedding. In addition, the knowledge of what is to come often helps guests have a better time at your reception and provides you with a way for keeping your guests informed about the meaning behind certain aspects of you ceremony. Programs are also excellent keepsakes for your guests.

What to Include in Your Wedding Program

Wedding programs are a fairly flexible addition to your wedding ceremony and reception. A basic program should include information regarding rituals, customs, or traditions being included in your wedding ceremony and in your reception. With the program, you can explain any aspect that may be unfamiliar to your guests. Of course, it should also include the times for certain events, particularly if your program will cover your reception events as well.

Wedding programs can also include many extras to help make them more personal. For example, you might include a brief biography of the members of your bridal party. Favorite poems, quotes, and photographs are also an excellent addition to your program. You might even honor a deceased relative or friend by including meaningful photos, quotes, or poems on the back of your program.

Program Designs

When it comes to wedding programs, anything that can be written on can be used. You might print your program on paper fans or in booklets. You can even be creative and place your program on scrolls of parchment or create a Playbill containing the names of the “actors” in your ceremony in order to help set the tone for your ceremony.

Winter Ideas for Wedding Programs

The time of year during which you get married can play a large part in determining the design and layout of your wedding programs. If you will be having a wedding program, you might create a program booklet that is bound in white faux fur. Or, use the traditional single-sheet program and attach a silver-studded snowflake to the top. Another idea is to create an ice-blue program and cover the top sheet with an piece of velum that is opaque and reads “Welcome to our Warm Winter Wedding.”

Spring Ideas for Wedding Programs

Spring is a fun and colorful time filled with blooming flowers. Therefore, spring wedding programs should reflect that same spirit. You might consider creating a two-fold program with a cover the same color as your wedding colors. Then engrave or emboss a bouquet of white blooms on the cover. Or, create a booklet and wrap it in chiffon ribbon and place a snap on it to keep it secure. If you want to keep it simple yet romantic, create a vertical program and place it on each of your guests’ chairs. Place a stone engraved with Love, Forever, or Joy on top of the program to keep it in place.

Summer Ideas for Wedding Programs

Summer brings with it thoughts of sunshine and splashing at the beach. To play upon this natural theme, you might create wedding programs that are bound with a string of seashells. Or, make fan-shaped programs that include all the colors of a sunset when they are opened. If you are going to lay your programs on your guests’ chairs, hold them down with a package of sparklers. This can be gorgeous if you are having an outdoor wedding and all of your guests light the sprinklers at the end of the ceremony.

Fall Ideas for Wedding Programs

In the fall, your wedding programs could include a leaf design. Or, create a small booklet with a mocha or cocoa colored cover and bind it with twine. Finish the look off with an attached acorn covered in gold glitter. Agold or yellow program with a velum overlay topped with a velvet chocolate-brown ribbon is another beautiful option.

What to Include with Wedding Invitations | Back to Top

Wedding invitations is one of the most important decisions that a bride and groom need to make when planning their wedding. Wedding invitations are often the first contact made between the bride and groom and their guests. This makes it important to make sure that all of the necessary items are included.

The first consideration is obviously the wedding invitations themselves. These should include the day, date, time and location of the wedding. It should also include the names of the bride and groom and the names of whoever is hosting the wedding if different than the bride and groom. If there is a reception following the ceremony, then this location should be included as well. The wedding invitations should match the overall tone and colour scheme of the wedding. This will alert the guests as to what to expect at the wedding, whether it is a formal or casual affair.

It is imperative to include reply cards within the envelope. This is just as important as the wedding invitations. This card will need to have spaces that the guest can use to fill in their name, whether or not they are attending the wedding, and the number of people who will be attending in their party. These reply cards should have a self-addressed, stamped envelope included for the guests to return. These reply cards are imperative to include with the wedding invitations.

Wedding invitations should also include information for out of town guests who will need to make travel arrangements for the wedding. The bride and groom should make sure to book a block of rooms at a local hotel. The hotel will likely give a discount. This information should then be included with the wedding invitations so that guests can take advantage of the lower rate as well as book their trip in advance.

The wedding invitations may need to include information about the reception if it is at a different location than the ceremony or at a later time. This would include the location of the reception, time, and directions to the reception site. This does not need to be anything as fancy as the wedding invitations, but is necessary for guests to have this information prior to the wedding.

There are special extras that can be included with wedding invitations in order to make them more elegant and appealing. This includes the traditional piece of tissue paper overlay on top of the wedding invitations or other embellishments. These additional touches will complete the look of the invitations and envelopes.

Wedding invitations are a lot of fun to choose. It is at this time that many brides and grooms really feel connected and reality of the wedding sets in. It becomes truly exciting!

There’s More to Wedding Invitations Than You Might Think | Back to Top

Everybody talks about wedding invitations, but what about all the other terms and items that are associated with them. Below are explanations of some of the more common terms and items that you’ll probably encounter while shopping for your invitations.

Seal n Send Invitations: This type of invitation is mailed to guests as a single-folded piece (without an envelope) having the respond postcard attached to the invitation by a perforation for easy removal. Since the respond piece is a postcard, you will save on postage for the return mailing. Prices for this product normally include seals along with a printed return address on both the back flap when initially mailing the invitation and on the perforated respond postcard.

Announcements: For those who won’t be invited to your wedding but you would still like them to know about your marriage, you can mail them an announcement card. They can be printed on the same paper as your invitation but mailed on your wedding day or immediately after with the wording stating that your wedding has already taken place.

Reception Cards: If there isn’t enough room on your invitation for listing the details of your reception or if not all guests will be invited to attend the reception, reception cards can be ordered to match your invitations and then be included as a separate insert. Please keep in mind that this card could possibly add to your mailing cost since postage is based on weight.

Respond Cards: These cards are essential to planning for your dinner/reception since an accurate guest attendance count will be needed for food and seating preparations. The respond card along with its mailing envelope will be inserted with your invitation. Remember to include a postage stamp on this small envelope which will also have a mailing address already printed on it so all your guests have to do is fill out the card and mail it back by the date you have printed on it.

Map Cards: These direction cards would be included as a convenience for any guests who might not be familiar with the location of the church and/or reception.

Printed Invitation Envelope Flaps: This option of having your return address printed on the outside envelope can save you valuable time and ensure that undeliverable invitations are returned to you. There is a small cost involved but it also gives an address to those who might not be able to attend but still want to send you a card or gift.

Lined Inner Envelopes: For a small charge, you can request your inner envelopes have a colored lining to add a special touch to your invitation ensemble. Color choices will vary depending on the invitation style you choose.

Envelope Seals: These self-adhesive labels add just the right finishing touch. They are available in many styles and are used on your outer envelope making it look like they are holding the flap down even though it has already been sealed.

Informal Notes: These are used separately from your invitations but should be included with your original order since they are usually printed on matching paper and this will save you on shipping costs. They are personalized with either your names or monogram on the front with the inside being blank for writing your thank you notes. Any leftovers can be used long after the wedding for other purposes. Blank mailing envelopes are included with them.

Not all of the above items are necessary to make your wedding invitations complete. Remember, this is your special day, so it’s your decision as to which ones you would like to include as part of your invitation ensemble.
